iCare Charity Journey: Supporting With Love, Moving Toward Warmth at Mingyue Hope Primary School
八月的高原，風裡已有了初秋的涼意。 再次來到明月希望小學，車還沒停穩，遠遠就看見孩子們跑來張望。熟悉的笑臉，讓這次相見不像一次探訪，更像久別後的重逢。 今年，「以愛相助·向暖而行」如約展開。 操場上，孩子們奔跑、跳躍；普法課上，他們認真聽著關於規則與權利的故事，不時舉手提問。美術課裡，畫紙上鋪滿大膽的色彩；科學實驗帶來一聲聲驚喜；剪紙課上，紅紙在小小的手中慢慢變成圖案。 烘焙課或許是最熱鬧的一堂。我們一起揉麵、包餡、壓模，把月餅送進烤箱。香氣飄出來時，孩子們圍在一旁等待。那一刻，月餅不只是一份食物，也成了我們一起留下的記憶。 我們希望帶來的不只是物資和幾堂課，而是陪伴，是讓孩子們看見更多可能。可每一次離開時才發現，真正有所收穫的，也一直是我們自己。 每年回來，不是因為責任，而是因為牽掛。 告別時，孩子總會問：「明年還來嗎？」 答案一直沒有變。 明年八月，風再起時，我們還會回來。因為在這條路上，沒有陌生人，只有等待下一次重逢的朋友。
By August, the first hint of autumn can already be felt in the wind across the plateau. When we arrived at Mingyue Hope Primary School again this year, the car had barely stopped before we saw the children running over to greet us. Their familiar faces made it feel less like a visit and more like coming back to people we had missed. And so, another year of “Helping with Love, Moving Toward Warmth” began. On the playground, the children ran, jumped, and played. In the legal awareness class, they listened to stories about rules and rights and raised their hands with questions of their own. Art class filled the tables with colour, simple science experiments brought excited reactions, and pieces of red paper slowly turned into patterns during paper-cutting class. One of the happiest moments came during baking. Together, we mixed the dough, added the filling, shaped the mooncakes, and waited for them to come out of the oven. As the room filled with their warm, sweet smell, the children gathered around to watch. It was a small moment, but one we knew we would remember. What we hope to bring each year is more than supplies or a few classes. We come to spend time together, to share what we know, and to help the children see a little more of what may be possible beyond the mountains. But every year, we leave having learned something too. We return not because we have to, but because we care. At the end of each visit, someone always asks, “Will you come back next year?” Our answer is always the same. When the winds return next August, so will we.
